Born in 2004, CHOI Soo-in didn’t have prior experience in acting when she started going to auditions, after observing her younger sibling making their debut. CHOI’s personality caught the attention of director YOON Ga-eun, who cast her as the main protagonist of <The World of Us> (2016), which would have a spectacular festival run around the world with a stop at the Berlinale. Among the long list of awards the film received, CHOI managed to claim a few for herself, winning Best Child Actor in a Feature Film for Children at the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín, Czech Republic, as well as Best Actor at the Youngabout Film Festival in Bologna, Italy. After starring in JEONG Ga-young’s short <Change of the Season> and the director’s feature debut <Some Day> (2017), CHOI portrayed the main character of Ok-bun, the old lady hellbent on learning English, in the flashbacks of the 2017 Chuseok holiday hit <I Can Speak> (2017).
