Lee got a Masters Degree in Film Studies from Dongguk Univ. Graduate School of Film in Seoul Korea. She started her career as an assistant director in film production in 1992 and involved in many film productions. In 2001 she became a researcher in charge of Japan at Seoul office of Busan Film Commission. At the same time, she worked as a correspondent for KOFIC and Cine21. Then she moved to Japan and worked in International Department of Kadokawa Corporation for handling Korean films from 2005 to 2008.
After returning to Korea, she established ZOA FILMS in 2011 and started acquisition of foreign films and book adaptation rights. Since its establishment, ZOA FILMS has (co-)produced the films such as: <AV Idol>(2012), <A RECORD OF SWEET MURDER>(2014), <BUTTERFLY SLEEP>(2018), <NOTEBOOK FROM MY MOTHER>(2018), and <MEMORIES OF A DEAD END>(2019).
She also has been putting effort into making films accessible for people with visual and auditory impairments.
