2nd Place is Project Wolf Hunting on Its First Weekend, 3rd Place is Avatar, the Remastered Version for Its Re-release

The comedy action film Confidential Assignment2: International, starring Hyun Bin and Yoo Haijin, topped the weekend box office for 3 consecutive weeks. According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Confidential Assignment2: International recorded 5,555,388 viewers in total with 484,431 audiences and 48.4% sales over the weekend from September 23 to 25.

Confidential Assignment2: International, which was released on September 7 ahead of the Chuseok holiday, surpassed 5 million viewers within 16 days of its release. The prequel, Confidential Assignment, which was released during the Lunar New Year holiday in 2017, recorded 7.81 million audiences in total. Attention is focused on whether the sequel's box office performance can surpass the prequel. 

The action thriller Project Wolf Hunting won 2nd place, which was released on September 21. Project Wolf Hunting attracted 194,943 moviegoers over the 1st weekend of its release with 20.4% sales. Director Kim Hongsun's new film, Project Wolf Hunting, is a film depicting a brutal rebellion that happens inside a huge moving prison on the sea while transporting criminals from the Pacific Ocean to Korea, drawing attention from the audience for its intense R-rated action scenes. In addition, the film was screened as a World Premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival and recorded a 100% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, drawing attention from North American audiences. 

3rd place is Remastered Avatar, which returned to the theater for the first time in 13 years. Remastered Avatar, which was released on September 21, attracted many movie enthusiasts' expectations in that it was a remastered version with 4K HDR. It recorded 88,916 weekend audiences with 13.9% sales. In particular, the special screening of Avatar: The Way of Water, which will be released in December, has been inserted into the remastered version, raising expectations for the sequel to Avatar, which will return in 13 years. 

4th place is the film 6/45. The number of audiences is 50,396 with 4.2% sales over the weekend, surpassing 1.9 million viewers in total, and its countdown to surpass 2 million viewers has begun. 5th place is Honest Candidate 2, which is scheduled to be released on September 28. It is a sequel to Honest Candidate, a political satirical comedy released in 2020, and Actor Ra Miran won the Best Actress at the Blue Dragon Awards that year. In addition, since Honest Candidate 2 tops the real-time reservation ahead of its release, it is considered a strong competitor for Confidential Assignment2: International, which tops at the box office.
