Hyun-bin Kicks Off COOPERATION Shoot

JK Film Aiming Once More for Box Office Gold
 
 
Superstar Hyun-bin’s new film Cooperation (translated title) kicked off production on March 10th. Directed by KIM Sung-hoon, the action-thriller is the new title from blockbuster production company JK Film, following their string of recent hits that includes Ode to My Father (2014) and The Himalayas (2015).
 
In his first film role since the Joseon Era period action-drama The Fatal Encounter (2014), Hyun-bin plays a North Korean investigator named IM Chul-ryung who teams up with a South Korean investigator to take down a criminal gang made up of North Korean traitors.
 
Joining Hyun-bin as his South Korean counterpart is character actor YOO Hae-jin who last made waves in Veteran and The Classified File in 2015. Playing the gang leader will be KIM Joo-hyuk who is set to have a big 2016, with roles in the already released romcom Like for Likes, the period thriller The Tooth and the Nail and HONG Sang-soo's next and as yet untitled film. YOO’s sister-in-law is played by Yoon-a, a member of the hugely popular girl group Girls’ Generation.
 
Director KIM previously made the feel-good musical drama A Wonderful Moment (2013) and other cast members include JANG Young-nam (The Classified File), LEE Hae-young (The Himalayas) and LEE Dong-hwi (THE SOUND OF A FLOWER, 2015). The budget of the blockbuster has been reported as KRW 10 billion (USD 8.69 million).
