It Provides In-depth Content such as K-movie News, Opinions, Reading Reviews, etc.

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) launched the online film media ‘Web Magazine K-Movies.’ Web Magazine K-Movies is an online magazine published to provide in-depth up-to-date information, reading materials, and visual attractions to Korean film lovers and workers in the film industry. On a monthly basis, it is a full-fledged web magazine, and some of its content will be updated weekly, providing a variety of content on the website.

Web Magazine K-Movies focuses on industrial trends and Korean film reviews. The August issue, the inaugural issue, features from the industrial trend special ‘Did the theater really survive and how the audience is changing?’ to a policy briefing ‘How have the audience’s behaviors changed during the COVID-19?’ along with an interview with Byun Seungmin, CEO of Climax Studios. Also, it has the articles on the pros and cons of Alienoid and the replays of Broker by Director Kore-eda Hirokazu, and I Am More by Director Lee Ilha. Furthermore, it contains hidden stories of masterpieces in the summer of 2022, such as Emergency Declaration and Hunt. 

Until now, the Korean Film Council has provided trends and information on the Korean film industry through paper magazines such as ‘Trend and Prospect,’ ‘Monthly Korean Films,’ etc. The newly refurbished Web Magazine K-Movies is expected to rapidly deliver Korean film news by taking advantage of the online media. 

Park Kiyong, Chairperson of the Korean Film Council, said, "Regarding Korean movies, we needed a medium that could convey information on the latest trends and policies more easily, which the Korean Film Council should basically provide to the public. We are pleased to be able to present policy trends to the workers of the film industry and provide various reviews to movie-loving people to read Korean films more deeply through Web Magazine K-Movies. Please enjoy it a lot," expressing his intention to publish it.
