Kim Seohyung to Lead KAFA Feature GREENHOUSE
Lee Seolhee Debut Part of KAFA’s 15th Feature Film Course Program
The Villainess (2017) and Mine actress Kim Seohyung is set to appear in the upcoming Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) project Greenhouse (translated title) in a leading role. From debut director Lee Seolhee, the film is part of the 15th class of feature KAFA projects.
Kim has signed on to play Moonjung, a caregiver who has a son in middle school, but after getting divorced, she can’t bear to bring him to her home, a plastic greenhouse she has converted into a home. She strives to raise the necessary funds to move into a real home for her and her son.
Active on screen since the turn of the millennium, Kim has appeared in a number of major films and dramas, many of them genre projects, such as the horror film Voice (2005), the third instalment in the anthology horror series Whispering Corridors. Kim’s fanbase grew significantly in 2018 when she appeared in the smash hit JTBC series SKY Castle.
She scored another small screen hit the year with tvN’s Mine and also returned to the Whispering Corridors franchise this summer, headlining WHISPERING CORRIDORS 6: THE HUMMING.
KAFA, which is operated under the Korean Film Council (Chairman - Kim Youngjin), has fostered many future luminaries of the Korean film industry, among them directors Bong Joonho and Im Sangsoo. The school has offered an advanced feature film graduate program for over a decade that has produced acclaimed films such as Jo Sunghee’s End of Animal (2010), Yoon Sunghyun’s Bleak Night (2010) and Hong Sungeun’s Aloners.
