Directors KIM Gok & KIM Sun Return with Voice Phishing Thriller

According to his agency Saram Entertainment, BYUN Yo-han, star of Socialphobia (2015) and Will You Be There? (2016), has been cast in the upcoming thriller project Voice (literal title), the latest film from filmmaking brothers KIM Gok and KIM Sun.

Voice will foreground the criminal practice of voice phishing, a form of telephonic fraud by which scammers illicitly obtain financial information from their victims over the phone.

After making his start in the 2011 short film Working On Saturday, BYUN became a prolific performer in independent works, eventually earning notice for his role in the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) project Socialphobia, which debuted at the Busan International Film Festival in 2014. He earned even wider attention the following year when he appeared in the hit TV series Misaeng. BYUN’s most recent film was the time loop thriller A Day (2017) alongside KIM Myung-min. Meanwhile, he recently completed filming Ja-san-eo-bo (Korean title) alongside SUL Kyung-gu, the latest period film from hit filmmaker LEE Joon-ik.

The KIM brothers are known for their avant-garde horror films, such as Exhausted (2009) and Anti Gas Skin (2013), as well as the commercial K-horror White (2011) and the horror omnibuses Horror Stories (2012) and Horror Stories III (2016).
