Musical with CHUNG Sung-hwa, KIM Go-eun and NA Moon-hee Begins Shoot

Hitmaker JK YOUN is back on set with his latest film Hero (translated title), a musical which began production on September 10. Based on the hit stage musical of the same name, the film will star CHUNG Sung-hwa, KIM Go-eun and NA Moon-hee.

The musical will follow the true story of independence fighter AHN Jung-geun (CHUNG Sung-hwa), who assassinated Prince ITO Hirobumi in 1909.

CHUNG Sung-hwa, reprising his role from the stage, has appeared in several commercial films, such as the bowling drama SPLIT (2016) and the thriller The Phantom Detective (2016). KIM Go-eun, known for Eungyo (2012) and Coin Locker Girl (2015), was recently seen on screens in the acclaimed melodrama Tune in for Love. Among veteran actress NA Moon-hee’s most notably roles are the fantasy comedy-drama Miss Granny (2014) and the comfort woman drama I Can Speak (2017).

Director YOUN and his company JK Film are known for smash hits such as Haeundae (2009) and Ode to My Father (2014), both of which crossed the ten million viewer mark, as well as other successes produced by YOUN and directed by others such as The Himalayas (2015) and Confidential Assignment (2017).

Hero is scheduled to shoot both in Korea and Latvia. The film will be distributed by CJ Entertainment.
