The
Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival has issued its call for entries for its upcoming 9th edition. The festival will take place in September. Submissions are broken down into two categories, the International Extreme-Short Competition, which is open for entries from May 31st to July 5th and the International Subway Film Competition, which is accepting films from June 1st to July 20th.
For the International Extreme-Short Competition, submitted films must fall either into the Extreme-Short category, which includes films of any genre completed after January 2016 that have never been submitted to SESIFF before and are under 5 minutes in length. For the Short Film category, works must be between 5 and 15 minutes in length.
The Grand Prize in the International Extreme-short/Short Film Competition is worth KRW 5 million (USD 4,380), while four other awards worth KRW 1 million (USD 876) are also up for grabs.
Works submitted to the International Subway Film Competition can be from any year but must be under 90 seconds, suitable for all ages and able to be understood without sound as they will be screened on subways (sound tracks can be used for online and theatrical screenings though).
The First Place prize in the International Subway Film Competition is worth EUR 2,000, with an additional pair of EUR 1,000 prizes also available.
