Cast Fills Out for LEE Joon-ik’s Resistance Fighter Drama

LEE Joon-ik will begin shooting his new Japanese Occupation Era drama PARK Yeol this month and the cast is beginning to fill out beyond the already cast lead LEE Je-hoon. Joining them on set will be GWON Yool, MIN Jin-woong, CHOI Hee-seo and PAIK Soo-jang. The film is the second consecutive Colonial Era film from Director LEE following last year’s DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet.

The film depicts the life of Korean independence fighter PARK Yeol (1902-1974), who led the anarchist organization 'The Black Dog Society’ which organized independence fighting movements and planned the attempted assassination of the Japanese crown prince Hirohito during the Colonial Era.

MIN Jin-woong, recently seen in The Priests (2015) and Proof of Innocence, will play on the PARK’s resistance fighter friends. He previously appeared in DONGJU; The Portrait of A Poet, along with CHOI Hee-seo who plays an as yet unspecified role here. BAEK Soo-jang, seen in Coin Locker Girl (2015) and The Queen of Crime in recent years, is also on board as an independence fighter. Also appearing will be GWON Yool, who appeared in The Hunt and Worst Woman last year.

Lead LEE Je-hoon was last seen in the noir-action The Phantom Detective and the hit TV series Signal. Period drama specialist LEE Joon-ik has previously delivered such hits as King And The Clown (2005) and The Throne (2015).
