SHIN Terra at the Helm of China-HK-Korea Action-Comedy Blockbuster
The gears are winding up once more for another co-production between China and South Korea (as well as Hong Kong), this time with none other than
LEE Min-ho, one of the most popular Korean stars in the Chinese diaspora, in the lead role.
Bounty Hunters, a KRW 35 billion (USD 31 million) action-comedy blockbuster, will be helmed by Korean director
SHIN Terra.
In the film, bounty hunters will track down fugitives for money across Asia, in China, South Korea and Thailand, which will all serve as locations for the film. Cast for his martial arts experience previously demonstrated through the action TV drama
City Hunter (2011) and this year’s gangster fable
Gangnam Blues, LEE will play a charismatic lead handy with his fists.
Though further casting has yet to be locked down, A-list Chinese actresses are being considered for the female lead. Last behind the camera for
Runway Cop (2012), SHIN is most well known for his hit action-comedy
My Girlfriend Is an Agent (2009).
Filming on Bounty Hunters, which will bring together major Asian film companies such as Starhaus Entertainment production, Pegasus Motion Pictures and Harmony Entertainment, is expected to begin in August with a release eyed for next year.
