New Detective Film Starts Shooting in March

After winning in the 2006 Makdong Scenario Contest, Tam-jung (working title) which translates to detective in Korean, is finally about to go into production. The film has been raising attention due to its two top stars, KWON Sang-woo and SUNG Dong-il.

KWON will play Dae-man, a family man who runs a comic book shop. Dae-man has an odd hobby of leading a profiling club as well as a blog that studies criminal cases. With his keen interest in solving mysteries, Dae-man gets drawn in a real murder case involving his friends and partners with Detective NOH. SUNG Dong-il will take the role of Detective NOH, who has keen intuition.

It is a welcome comeback for KWON who last filmed in Korea in 2011 with JUNG Ryeo-won in Pain. Since then, KWON has been more active in the Chinese entertainment industry and recently finished his third Chinese film Honey Enemy with Kitty ZHANG.
SUNG Dong-il has consistently been active, generally appearing in at least two films per year. His most recent film, Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, is currently in theaters. SUNG has also been building up his fandom through TV roles in It’s Okay, That’s Love and Reply 1994, as well as the variety show Dad! Where Are We Going?.

The film will be directed by KIM Joung-hoon of Petty Romance (2010) and will start shooting in March.
