Korean Wave Star CHOI Si-won joined Jackie CHAN’s upcoming film.

CHOI has been cast in period action film Drangon Blade which is produced by and starring Jackie CHAN. Set in ancient China, the film tells about a general who became a slave during a war between the Hans and the Huns, and a Roman prince who ran away to China. Daniel LEE is the helmer of the project, who previously made White Vengeance (2011) and The Black Mask (1996), while CHAN is playing general Huo An, and Hollywood star of Con Air (1997), John Cusack is performing Roman prince. CHOI’s part in the film is not known yet.

Dragon blade is CHOI’s third Chinese movie following Battle of Wits (2006) and Helios (2013). CHOI is maintaining friendship with CHAN, as he appeared as a guest on entertainment programs together and was invited to CHAN’s 60th birthday party.

Dragon blade will have a record-breaking budget in China, since it will be financed USD 65 million. The shooting kicks off this year around Hengdian and Dunhuang in China and the Mongolia Gobi Desert. The film is to premiere in international markets in early 2015.
