iFilm Corporation is the film production subsidiary of entertainment and media group iHQ. Having started in 1999 as EBM Production, a talent management agency founded by JUNG hoon-tak, it was first involved in film production when it merged in 2000 with film studio Uno Films and VOD platform Webcinema to become Sidus, an entertainment and management company. Sidus would become one of the most well-known names of the industry, having represented many top actors of the time and produced notable films such as BONG Joon-ho’s debut feature <Barking Dogs Never Bite> (2000), cult fantasy melodrama <Il Mare> (2000) and the Korea-China co-produced historical epic <Musa – The Warrior> (2001). In 2002, Sidus span off its talent management business into an independent company, Sidus HQ (later known as iHQ), which then established in 2003 its own film subsidiary, iFilm Corporation, with JUNG at its head. The company debuted with <Windstruck> (2004), KWAK Jae-yong’s spiritual prequel to his phenomenal hit <My Sassy Girl> (2001), while its most notable releases also include <Daisy> (2006), a melodrama starring Gianna JUN that was co-produced with Hong Kong and the Netherlands, and pandemic disaster film <Flu> (2013), which scored 3.1 million total admissions.
