Caper Film is a film production company that producer AHN Soo-hyun and director CHOI Dong-hoon founded soon after their wedding in 2007, as a way to carry out CHOI’s projects but also for them to spend more time together. Their first film, <The Thieves> (2012) was a sensational hit thanks in no small part to its impressive ensemble cast of A-list actors and eventually became at the time the highest-grossing Korean film ever with KRW 93.7 billion (USD 86.4 million) and 13 million tickets sold. This put them in the best possible position to start producing a project dear to CHOI, an action film about Korean independence fighters set in 1930’s Shanghai. <Assassination> (2015) reunited <The Thieves> co-stars Gianna JUN (a.k.a. JUN Ji-hyun), LEE Jung-jae and OH Dal-su, and managed to do as well as its predecessor. The studio is currently producing CHOI’s next film, <Wiretap> (translated title), about a criminal intelligence unit going after financial criminals.
